Work Truck Solutions, a SaaS company, provides comprehensive online merchandising and support to dealerships nationwide, helping them excel in sales, marketing, and industry news. The creation of the Commercial Playbook aimed to offer a free resource to support automotive dealers in the commercial space and enhance Work Truck Solutions' position as a thought leader.

Despite their industry experience, some automotive dealers are benefited by regular updates pertaining to technology, digital merchandising, SEO optimization, and contemporary marketing. The Commercial Playbook series was developed to address these gaps, increase sales leads, and educate viewers, while establishing Work Truck Solutions' expertise in the field.

Users & Audience

The primary target audience for this project included automotive dealers currently involved in the sale of commercial vehicles or considering entering the commercial space. The secondary audience comprised OEM representatives and adjacent automotive industry professionals.

Process & My Involvement

The Playbook was released in chapters, with each chapter dedicated to addressing common pain points expressed by the dealer community. The development of each chapter involved 2-3 weeks of intensive research and data analysis. Following stakeholder approval, the responibility for typography, design, and layout fell under my domain before the chapters wee subcreatingfor final approval and public release.

Outcomes & Lessons Learned

The implementation of the Commercial Playbook led to a substantial increase in sales leads and provided upsell opportunities for current accounts, resulting in the acquisition of hundreds of new leads for Work Truck Solutions. Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with the majority of customers commending the value they derived from each chapter. The Commercial Playbook has not only benefited automotive dealers but also solidified Work Truck Solutions' position as a trusted partner in the commercial vehicle industry.
